Digit Systems successfully completed the magnet ramp-down, deinstallation, removal, and warehouse delivery of a GE SIGNA HDxt 1.5T MRI system in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Through careful planning and coordination with a professional rigging contractor, the project was completed safely in three days without damage to critical system components.
Preparing the MRI for Deinstallation
Approximately one week before the scheduled removal, a Digit Systems engineer traveled to the site to perform a controlled magnet ramp-down using the Digit Systems MPS2 magnet power supply.
Completing the ramp-down in advance helped prepare the system for deinstallation and reduced the risk of delays during the main project.
Three-Day MRI Deinstallation
From July 6 through July 8, 2026, our engineers systematically disconnected and disassembled the GE SIGNA HDxt 1.5T system.
Special care was taken to protect the magnet, electronics, cabling, and other critical components throughout the process. The deinstallation was completed on schedule without safety incidents or equipment damage.
Rigging, Transportation, and Warehouse Setup
A professional rigging contractor handled the physical movement and loading of the MRI system under the supervision of Digit Systems.
Following removal, the system was transported to the Digit Systems warehouse, where it was safely unloaded, set up, and prepared for international redeployment.
A Successful MRI Deinstallation
The project demonstrated how proper planning, specialized MRI experience, and close coordination can protect equipment condition while keeping a complex deinstallation on schedule.
Digit Systems provides complete MRI project support, including magnet ramp-down, deinstallation, rigging coordination, transportation, warehouse preparation, and equipment relocation.
