GE SIGNA HDxt MRI Deinstallation in Indiana

Digit Systems completed the on-site deinstallation of a GE SIGNA HDxt 1.5T MRI system in Terre Haute, Indiana, from July 6 to 8, 2026. The project also included a separate magnet ramp-down visit and delivery to our warehouse.

Ramp-Down and Deinstallation

About a week before deinstallation, a Digit Systems engineer visited the site to ramp down the magnet using the MPS2 magnet power supply.

During the July 6–8 visit, our engineers disconnected and disassembled the system, protecting the magnet, electronics, and cabling. The on-site work finished on schedule without safety incidents or equipment damage.

Helium-Conscious Deinstallation and Cold Storage

To minimize helium boil-off, the magnet’s compressor remained connected until immediately before rigging. Following loading, the system was transported promptly to Digit Systems’ facility, where the compressor was reconnected and the magnet was placed in compressor-supported cold storage. This carefully coordinated process helped preserve helium and maintain the magnet’s condition throughout the transition.

Rigging and Warehouse Delivery

A specialist rigging contractor moved and loaded the equipment under Digit Systems’ supervision.

After the on-site deinstallation, the system was transported to our warehouse, unloaded, and prepared for international redeployment.
