Cryogenic is one the most important portion of MRI in terms of maintenance. With technology evolvement, MRI magnetic field strength has went from 0.2T open MRI to now 3.0T close MRI in general and technology of superconductive magnet made it all possible for us to scan faster and have better image quality.
On the other hand, to maintain superconductivity the magnet has to be maintained at its absolute temperature which is 4K (-273.15 degrees Celsius). In order to maintain this temperature on earth, there are various cooling components all synchronized to remove heat from your magnet.
